The solid wood hopper lid provides a nice aesthetic look to the grain mill while keeping any foreign material from getting into the hopper. It sure looks better than the paper plate I was using.

The hopper lid fits the grain mill perfectly. It is exactly the way it looks in the picture, a smooth finish with a nice color.
