Now your Country Living Grain Mill can be even more versatile! Use the large auger to mill corn, beans, and coffee. To use, simply replace the standard spring auger with this larger auger. The large auger is cast from stainless steel.
Note: There are thousands of corn hybrids and not all of them grind equally well. The Country Living Mill does best with hard corn with a low moisture content. Soft varieties of corn, or corn with a soft or chalky interior tends to clog and grind poorly.

Auger is just as described and as sturdy as our mill has proven to be. The service provided on my order was excellent too. I received confirmation of the order and the next day received confirmation of shipping. The auger arrived before it was scheduled too! Thanks for the prompt service!

I harvest our excess corn for sprouting as chicken feed and grinding for corn meal. The corn and bean auger does a superior job for the latter.

I bought my grain mill around 1990. Used it for 8 years to grind wheat groats for flour. It was out of necessity to cut food cost down since I was essentially in poverty. Very functional equipment for emergencies and when you don't have much money for groceries. For a 45 pound bucket of wheat groats, pay $12.00 a bucket is a bargain. After I got a job at a factory, I invested in a electric wheat grinder due to strenuous work I had to do at the factory for the next four years. I have packed away my Country Living grain mill in my second bedroom for the possible emergencies like earthquakes and the second Great Depression. Invaluable equipment to have on hand. Beans complement the wheat for proteins. So I am keeping the bean auger with the grain mill. Because we all gotta eat to live.

You do want this to make your mill more versatile. I grind beans with mine and it works well with Great Northern Beans and Lentils. It had a really difficult time grinding Chick Peas (Garbanzo Beans) however. They were too big and would not flow down into the auger well. Took 3 passes through the mill to get it all ground to flour. A useful accessory, but realize that it does have its limits.
I did not receive a drawing or illustration showing how to correctly install it in the mill, which is needed for the first few times that you use it. First time, I installed it backwards, but it still worked!
